Mary Ruth "Ruthie" Rains

Mary Ruth “Ruthie” Rains, 76, of Jonesboro, died Friday, January 17, 2024.  She lived most of her life in the Jonesboro area.  She was born in Cash on September 18, 1948, to William and Mary Garman. She was a member of Temple Baptist Church.  She loved to sing and listen to music.  Mary Ruth was an Assistant Manager at K-Mart until their closing.  Then she worked until retirement from Dillard’s Department Store where she sold ladies shoes.  One of her hobbies was traveling in a motor home enjoying the country.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Clara.

Survivors include her son, Brady Rains and wife Shelly of Jonesboro; Ashley Dulaney and husband Greg of Bono; sisters, Sharon Farley and husband Larry of Cash; Regina Walker and husband Grady of Jonesboro; grandchildren, Seth (Khakee), Shae, Layne and Sophie; brother-in-law, Charles Manis of Sedgwick; special friend Glenn Thompson; and several nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 P.M., Sunday, January 19, 2025, at Emerson Memorial Chapel with Steve Mabrey and Andy Neal officiating.  The Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery with Rodney Manis, Layne Rains, Dillon Jones, Dennis Jones, Brock Wheeler, and Seth Ishmael serving as pallbearers.  Honorary pallbearers are the Cash High School Class of 1966. Visitation will be from 1:00 until service time.
