Lula Mae Dunavant

Lula Dunavant, 97, of Jackson, Tennessee, passed away on September 7, 2025. She was born May 5, 1928, to J.B. and Bessie Tacker. She lived most of her life in Jonesboro, Arkansas.

She was a loving mother who devoted herself to raising her children in the nurture of the Lord. After her children were grown, she because a nurse. Her life was spent serving others.

She was preceded in death by her husband Cleve Dunavant; her son Joe Dunavant; sister Margie Warner; and brothers Ted Tacker and D.D. Tacker.

She is survived by her son Ed Dunavant of Little Rock, Arkansas, son Don Dunavant of Bartlett, Tennessee, and daughter Linda Taylor of Jackson, Tennessee. By grandchildren Michal Dunavant, David Dunavant, Matt Dunavant, Micah Zehner, Adam Dunavant, Jason Taylor, and Sara Beth Porter, Zach Dunavant, and Eli Dunavant as well as twenty great grandchildren.

Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

Services will be Thursday, September 11, 2025 at 1:30 p.m.  at Emerson Funeral Home with burial at Philadelphia Cemetery. Visitation will be 30 minutes prior to the service.
