Zyhir Garrett

Zyhir “Zy” Grayson Lee Garrett, 8, of Jonesboro passed from this life on Sunday, May 28, 2023. He was born on February 19, 2015 to Eddie Austin Jr, and Kishayla Garrett in Jonesboro. Zy was an energetic young man who loved to play sports, especially basketball, and his favorite player was Steph Curry of the Golden State Warriors. He also enjoyed watching YouTube highlights of his favorite basketball players and wrestlers and share them with his family. Zy is preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Eddie Austin Sr.

Zy is survived by his parents, Eddie Austin Jr. of Forrest City and Kishayla Garrett of Jonesboro; brothers, Emarion Austin, Elijah Austin, Ja’Kari Austin, and Zyven Austin all of Jonebsoro; sister, Zymira Austin; and grandparents, Charlotte Goodman, James Garrett, Sheila Austin, Tyrone Williams, Betty Goodman “Granny Granny”; cousin, DeAnn Binion; godmother, Roderica Monroe; and special friend, Errian Davis.

Services will be Saturday, June 3, 2023, starting at 1:00 p.m. at Emerson Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow at Pine Log Cemetery.
