Zane Alsey Gragg, 94, of Jonesboro departed this life on May 2, 2026, at Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro. He was born on January 12, 1932, in the Macey Community to David and Rena Gragg.

Zane faithfully served as a Baptist preacher for 54 years and was the sixth generation in his family to do so. Along with preaching, he worked as a schoolteacher and retired after 26 years. He also honorably served his country in the United States Army and was a veteran of the Korean War. He found great joy in fishing and cherished the time he spent with his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife of 53 years, Norma Lea Gragg; and ten siblings; and a daughter-in-law, Paula Gragg.

He is survived by his children, Mark (Kathy) Gragg and Matthew (Mona) Gragg, April (Charlie) Melton, and Kristy (Brian) Brewer; ten grandchildren, Marcus (Candice) Gragg, Amanda Gragg, Caleb Gragg, Matt (Allison) Gragg, Cassie (Chad) Gragg, Cameron Gragg, Brandi (Brandon) Odell, Trent (Ashley) Melton, Briana Brewer, and Sage Brewer; fifteen great-grandchildren, Tripp, Margo, Gentry, Lincoln, Ollie, Braxton, Bryce, Ragan, Aliyah, Callie, Ethan, Isaak, Ava, Moxon, and Mabri; and one great-great-grandchild, Stetson.

Visitation will be held Saturday, May 9, 2026, from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. at Emerson Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 10:30 a.m. with Bro. Stan Ballard officiating. Burial will follow at Macey Cemetery in Monette.

Pallbearers will be Trent Melton, Ethan Barnett, Marcus Gragg, Caleb Gragg, Matt Gragg, and Braxton Gragg. Honorary pallbearers will be Brian Brewer, Charles Melton, Danny Honnell, Terry Locke, along with Zane’s nephews and great nephews.
