Wilson Hal White, 64, of Jonesboro passed from this life Wednesday, October 4, 2017 at St. Bernard’s Medical Center. He was born in West Memphis on September 20, 1953 to Wilson and Norma White. Hal spent the last 46 years residing in Jonesboro where he is also a member of the Walnut Street Baptist Church.
Hal was a graduate of Arkansas State University where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting. He was a long time Certified Public Accountant, Certified Valuation Analyst and was accredited in Business Valuation. Hal was a member of the Business Valuation and Litigation Services Sections of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Arkansas Society of Certified Public Accountants, and the National Association of Certified Valuation Analytics, American institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), NEA S.C.P.A... Hal was a partner and spent 39 years with Jones & Company. He also served as the Board member and Treasurer on several organizations that included the YMCA, Rotary, and the Jonesboro Jaycee’s. Hal served in the U.S. Army and also served in the Arkansas and Tennessee National Guard for several years. He Enjoyed high performance racing and was a member of the Mid South Porsche Club. Hal was an avid cyclist, enjoyed golfing and was an accomplished artist. Most of all Hal’s passion was music and loved playing the guitar. Lastly he loved working with his hands and building things and was such a perfectionist in all that he did. He was able to build items such as guitars, golf clubs and many other items as well.
He is preceded in death by his father, Wilson Pershing White and his sister, Sarah White.
Hal is survived by his wife, Beverly of 40 years, of the home; mother; Norma White Jackson of Jonesboro; son: Steven White of Jonesboro; daughter: Jessica (Jeffrey) Butner of Alexander, Arkansas; brother: William White of Monette; sister: Mary Virginia “GiGi” (Chat) Gattis of Marion, Arkansas; grandchildren: Leam Wilkinson, Payton Butner, and one on the way.
A memorial service will be 2pm Sunday, October 8, 2017 at Emerson Funeral Home with Brother Keith Baker officiating.
A visitation will follow the service and will be from 3- 4:30 pm at Emerson Funeral Home.
