Wilmalene Kirkendall

Wilmalene Kirkendall, 80, of Jonesboro, Arkansas, died Sunday, November 7, 2010, at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro.

Born in Cardwell, Missouri, Wilmalene lived many years in St. Louis before moving to Dexter, Missouri, and then to Jonesboro 7 years ago. She was a beautician and a member of the Baptist church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Homer Kirkendall, and her parents, David Isaac and Lillie Bevans Franks.

Survivors include one son, Richard Lee Kirkendall and his wife Bridget of Wilmette, Illinois;

2 brothers, Wilburn Franks of Fenton, Michigan, and Larry Franks of Heber Springs;

2 sisters, Betty Watson of Jonesboro and Virginia Rowe of Heber Springs; and

4 grandchildren: Adam Kirkendall, Shannon Kirkendall, Lucy Kirkendall and Kathleen Kirkendall.

A funeral service will be held Tuesday morning at 11:00 in Emerson Memorial Chapel with Rev. Patty Soward officiating.

Visitation will be held Tuesday morning from 9:30-11:00 in the chapel.

A committal service will be held Wednesday morning, November 24, 2010, at 10:45 in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis with Rev. Father Dan Hogan officiating with Emerson Funeral Home of Jonesboro in charge of arrangements.
