Wilma Jean Prince, 85, a longtime resident of Jonesboro, died Sunday, January 13, 2019 at St. Bernards Regional Medical Center. She was a member of the First Freewill Baptist Church in Jonesboro. She taught for over 30 years in public education at Nettleton and Grubbs. Her passion was spending time with her family and her church family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Orville Prince; one son, Ray Gene Prince; her parents, Reverend Ray and Esther Watkins; twin brother, Eugene Watkins and a granddaughter, Madison Paige Prince.
Survivors include her son, Randall Prince of Jonesboro; grandchildren, Ryan Prince, Cade Prince, Brianne Fowlkes and Danae Sandusky; and four great grandchildren.
Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 5-7 p.m. at Emerson Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 10:00 Wednesday, January 16, 2019 at Emerson Memorial Chapel with Joseph Hall and Kevin Barnett officiating. Burial will follow at Ballew’s Chapel Cemetery with Ronald Wheeless, Floyd Inzer, Kim Watkins, Allen Huddle, Cade Prince, and Ryan Prince serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are the Day Springs Sunday School Class, residents and staff of St. Bernards Village, Sarah Springer, Wanda Fisher, Imalee Johns, Ed and Joyce Holder, Bill and Wanda Flemon, Gertrude Sorrell, Wilma Durham, Letha Brown, Paul Bean and Bonnie Bean, and Phil Cook.
