Willie H. Simpson

January 17, 1943 — May 24, 1943

Willie H. Simpson, 74 of Jonesboro, Arkansas passed away on Wednesday, May 24, 2017 at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House.

He is survived by his loving wife, Sherry Park Simpson; two daughters, Kim Shelton (Rob) of Jonesboro, and Amy Wheeler of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, two granddaughters, Madison Shelton and Lila Tubb; two brothers, Bobby Simpson of Radford, Virginia, and Jimmy Simpson (Ann) of Olive Branch, Mississippi and two sisters, Ann Simpson and Betty Gee (Tommy) of Memphis.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, SungAi Simpson; his parents, Linward Giles Simpson and Margaret Eugenia Ursery Simpson and one brother, Glen Simpson.

Willie was a long time member of the Nettleton church of Christ where he served as a deacon and bible class teacher for many years. He was also a long time member of the Rotary club of Jonesboro where he was a past president and a Paul Harris Fellow. He was the former owner and operator of Jonesboro Blueprint Company for almost 40 years. He served as an Army MP in South Korea.

Visitation will be held at Nettleton church of Christ on Tuesday, May 30, 2017 from 12:30-2:30 PM with the funeral service following immediately at 2:30 PM with Jimmy Young officiating. Burial will follow in Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery.

Active pallbearers are Rob Shelton, Donald Barker, Jerry Tibbs, Larry Darr, Bill Lester, Caroll Hundley and Steve Brown. Honorary pallbearers are Coy London, Bob Shumpert, Harry Park, Elbert Carr, and Timothy Tubb and Dan Melton.
