Willie Marshall “Junior” Rawls Jr., 89, of Bay passed from this life Monday, January 25, 2016 at NEA Baptist hospital surrounded by his family. He was born to Willie and Gladys Birdsell Rawls July 4, 1926.
In addition to his parents, Junior is preceded in death by his brother, Gaylon (Jake) Rawls.
Junior is survived by his wife of 71 years, Imogene Rawls of the home; his son: Larry (Diane) Rawls of Bay; one grandson: William of Bay and granddaughter: Amy (Chris) Burton of Bedford, TX; five grandchildren: Laci Burton of Bay, Laura (Kevin) Perkins, Dakota Burton, Jake Burton, Taylor Grace Burton; one great-great grandchild: Henry Perkins, all of the Dallas, TX area.
Junior lived his life in around the Bay area. He was a farmer in his youth and worked for Singer Manufacturing in Trumann for over 30 years until they closed.
He and his wife enjoyed many years working in and selling wood crafts in the north east Arkansas area, were they made many friends.
He was great fan of baseball and played for many years with the local teams in the Bay and Trumann area.
A visitation will be from 12-2 pm, Wednesday, January 27, 2016 at the Broadway Avenue Missionary Baptist Church in Bay.
Funeral service will follow at 2 pm, Wednesday, January 27, 2016 at the Broadway Avenue Missionary Baptist Church in Bay with Terry George and Rick Jensen officiating with Emerson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Burial will follow at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery with active pallbearers being: Doug Stanley, Jerry Yeager, Jack Knight, David Erby, Mike Erby, and Mike Rose.
