Willie D. Oden, 77, of Jonesboro died Sunday at the Flo & Phil Jones Hospice House.
Willie was born to the late Vernon and Gertha Oden in Jonesboro on November 8, 1935. He lived and worked in the Jonesboro area all his life. He loved music and taking rides in the countryside.
He also enjoyed going to the river, and was of the Pentecostal belief.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by, a son Donald Oden; and a brother, Cornelius “Corky” Oden.
He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Helen Oden; one son, Donald Ray Oden; one daughter, Lynn Mills (Eddie); a brother, Alford Oden; four sisters, Mildred Weston, Margaret Lovins, Ruby Davis, and Shirley Curtis all of Jonesboro; four grandchildren Michael, Aiden, Jaime Gwen ,Jason; two great grandchildren Cheyenne, Scotty; and a host other family and friends.
Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 6 to 8pm at Emerson Funeral l Home.
Services will be Thursday afternoon at 2pm at Shiloh United Methodist with Mark Lawson officiating. Burial will follow at Shiloh Cemetery with Emerson Funeral Home in charge of all arrangements. Pallbearers are Anthony Oden, Clifton, Wayne, Bobby, Tommy, and Eddie Wheeley. Honorary pallbearers are Lanny Weston, Ricky Hager, BJ Wheeley, and Josh Brubaker.
