Willie Bryan Brown

Willie Bryan Brown, 87, of Jonesboro, died Wednesday, January 22, 2025, at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House.  He had lived in Jonesboro for the past 31 years, moving here from Trumann.  He was born in Hornersville, Missouri on June 25, 1937, to William Henry and Virginia Brown.  He was a member of North Main Baptist Church.  Willie served his country in the US Army during the Korean War. A man of many talents and hobbies, he was an excellent BBQ cook.  He enjoyed fishing, shooting pool, refinishing furniture, and anything to do with Cardinals baseball.  He took pride loving his family and always being at events for his children and grandchildren.  Willie had an incredible work ethic.  He retired from Singer Manufacturing and Bilco Manufacturing. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Van Brown, Gary Brown, William Brown Jr., Danny Brown and Larry Brown; sisters, Flora Mae Vaughn and Norma Jean Lancaster.

He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Patsy Brown, of the home; daughters, Carolyn Batten and husband Scott; Denisia Kay Smith of Jonesboro; Brothers, Ronnie Brown and Eual Brown of Hornersville; grandchildren, Dafney Whitman, Justin Batten (Courtney) Jennifer Batten, April Coleman (Nathan); 9 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life service will be held 10:00 AM, Friday, January 24, 2025, at Emerson Memorial Chapel with Terry Vaughn and John Dillinger officiating and Emerson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.  Burial will follow at Nettleton Cemetery with family and friends serving as pallbearers.  The visitation will be from 5-7:00 PM, Thursday night, January 23, 2025, at Emerson Memorial Chapel.
