W. Bolt Hill, 81, of Jonesboro, Arkansas died Monday, September 24, 2007 at St. Bernards Medical Center. He was born in Spartanburg County, South Carolina and moved to Jonesboro in 1985, moving here from Memphis, Tennessee. He graduated in the top ten percent of his class from Wofford College in Spartanburg. He served his country during WWII in the U. S. Army Air Corp, was a Master Mason, a member of the First Baptist Church in Jonesboro and served as a Deacon at Morningside Baptist Church in Spartanburg, and was a member of the Deacon body at First Baptist Church in Jonesboro.
He worked for Spartan Grain and Mill and retired as a sales representative from Frisco Railway. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sena Antho Blackwell Hill; parents Claude E. and Thelma Reid Hill; two brothers Hubert Hill and Gene Hill.
Bolt Hill is survived by his son, Dennis Bolt Hill and his wife Sharon of Jonesboro; daughter, Carol Hill Ferriell and husband Mike of Tucson, Arizona; brother, Raymond Hill, N. Augusta, South Carolina; sister, Ethel Waldrop, Lancaster, South Carolina.; five grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 3:00 P.M., Saturday, September 29, 2007 at First Baptist Church with Dr. Bruce Tippit officiating and Emerson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements with burial to follow at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery. Pallbearers are Chris Hill, Brian Hill, Jace Tubbs, Bill Ferriell, Todd Ferriell, and Bill McKnight. Honorary pallbearers are the Fellowship Sunday School Class at First Baptist Church. Visitation will be from 1:00 until service time at First Baptist Church on Saturday.
