View Funeral Webcast William R. “Arie” Whitlock, 77, of Bay, died Saturday, January 8, 2022, at his home. He had lived most of his life in the Bay area. He was a member of the Alsup Baptist Church. He had worked at Nettleton Concrete for many years and was a bi-vocational preacher, having pastored at Faith Baptist Church in Tulot, Freer Baptist Church in Trumann, and Anderson Tully Baptist Church in Harrisburg. He served his country in the US Army. He enjoyed reading his Bible, riding his four-wheeler and spending time with family, especially his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil and Ollie Whitlock and a sister, Zella Mae Whitlock. Survivors include his wife of, 52 years, Mary Whitlock, of the home; son, Willie Whitlock and wife Sheila of Bay; brothers, Dee Whitlock of Central, near Harrisburg; Tip Whitlock, Carl Whitlock of Trumann; Louis Whitlock and Clifton Whitlock of Jonesboro; sisters, Porshia Faulk of Dixie; Linda Forbis of Bono; Sarah Thetford and Cindy Veteto of Jonesboro; two grandchildren, Angel Dawn Whitlock and William Robert Whitlock and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM, Wednesday, January 12, 2022, at Emerson Memorial Chapel with Larry Loggins and Jim Morgan officiating. Burial will follow at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery with Robert Whitlock, Jarred Veteto, Bryan Myers, Chris Kain, Kevin Lyles, Derek McIntire, and Jim Thomas serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Angel Whitlock, members of the Anderson Tully Baptist Church, and nieces and nephews.
