William Wyatt “Bill” Arnold, Jr., age 84, of Jonesboro, Arkansas, died Tuesday, December 6, 2005, at his home in Jonesboro.
Born in Imboden, Arkansas, on July 12, 1921, Mr. Arnold was a 1939 graduate of Marked Tree High School. He lived in Long Beach, California before moving to Jonesboro in 1975.
He served in the U.S. Navy from 1939-1946 and was aboard the USS Elliott between Wake Island and Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941.
Mr. Arnold was an aviation machinist and engineer and operated a field maintenance shop in Vietnam for the Department of Defense. Bill was a machinist for FMC Corporation in Jonesboro from 1975-1985.
Bill was a member of the Masonic Lodge of the Phillipines and was a member of the Los Angeles Shriners. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Mildred Townsend Arnold in 2004.
Survivors include 1 Son, Dr. William Pittman Arnold of Scott’s Valley, California.
Funeral services and burial will be private.
There will be no visitation.
