William "Van" Vandergriff

William “Van” VanDerGriff, 78, of Jonesboro passed from this life on Friday, March 18, 2022 at his home. He was born to the late E. Durell and Lucille VanDerGriff on December 2, 1943 in Trumann. Van was an avid Arkansas Razorback Fan and could always be seen wearing his Razorback gear. He was a member at Floyd Assembly of God in Searcy. Van enjoyed hunting, fishing, and racing cars when he was younger. In addition to his parents, Van is preceded in death by his sister, Alta VanDerGriff; and great granddaughter, Leela Raye Harvey.

Van is survived by his wife, Malinda Underwood VanDerGriff of the home; son, William VanDerGriff Jr. (Cynthia) of Texas; daughters, Renee Anderson (Clyde) of Ravenden and Michelle VanDerGriff of Hot Springs; brothers and sisters-in-law, Wade & Mary Kelley of Somerville, Tennessee, George & Sheila King of Jonesboro, and Lavada & Steve MacArthur of Jonesboro. Van also leaves behind nine grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and his loyal companion dog, Brutus.

The visitation will be held on Monday, March 21, 2022 at Emerson Funeral Home from 5 to 7 p.m.

The service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 22, 2022 at Emerson Funeral Home with Bro. Carl Blankenship and Bro Terry Miller officiating. Burial will follow at Nettleton Cemetery with the active pallbearers being Marty Harvey, Norman Brown, Peanut Patton, Clyde Anderson, Kaylon Kimble, and Shawn Anderson.
