William Howard Stanley, 77, of Jonesboro, passed away on July 20, 2026, at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House. He was born in Jonesboro on November 14, 1948, to the late William and Pearl Stanley. In addition to his parents, William was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Douglas Stanley; his sister, Betty Jo Moore; and his beloved Australian Shepherd, Katie.

William was born and raised in Jonesboro, where he spent most of his life. When he came of age, he was drafted into the Army to serve his country during the Vietnam War. During the war, he helped repair helicopters and earned the rank of sergeant. After returning from the war, William found happiness in simple things. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved fishing, farming, and spending time in nature. William was fascinated by old cars and tractors, and he cherished visiting the Branson Auto and Farm Museum with his family. Most importantly, William loved being with his family and spending time with his two children. William will be greatly missed by friends and loved ones alike.

William is survived by his wife of 48 years, Jonnye Stanley; son, Jonathan Stanley (Heather), of Las Vegas, NV; daughter, Jennifer Stanley, of Jonesboro; and a host of nieces, nephews, loved ones, and friends.

Burial will be private.
