William Larry Sharp, 78, of Jonesboro, passed away on July 24, 2026, at NEA Baptist Memorial Hospital. He was born in Jonesboro on October 1, 1947, to the late William Staton and Dorothy Harriett Sharp. In addition to his parents, Larry is preceded in death by his nephews, Mark Johnson and Brian Johnson.

Larry was born and raised in Jonesboro, graduating from Valley View High School in 1965. In his youth, he had a passion for fast cars. He loved racing and fixing them up, especially his GTO. His most recent pride and joy was his 2020 Z71 Silverado High Country. Larry’s love of cars and trucks led to a full 50+ year career with various Ford dealerships, where he worked his way up to Parts Manager before retiring. Larry lived a simple life with simple pleasures. You could always find him working in his yard, visiting with friends in his driveway, or meeting up with his buddies every Thursday for dinner. Most importantly, Larry loved his family. He will be greatly missed by friends and loved ones alike.

Larry is survived by his son, Brad Sharp (Gena), of Harrisburg; sisters, Alma Keedy (Mack) of Cash and Sue Johnson of Jonesboro; grandchildren, Cody Sharp (Amanda) and Sara Sharp of Batesville, and Liv Hoggard of Jonesboro; three great-grandchildren; nephews, David Keedy (Leanne) and Mack Keedy Jr. (Kim); and a host of family and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, at Emerson Funeral Home. A visitation will precede the service from 9:00 am to 10:00 am. Burial will follow at Gibson Cemetery.
