William L. Rodney

Mr. William "W.L." Rodney, 82, of Jonesboro, passed away Monday, November 2, 2020, at his home in Jonesboro.

William was born September 1, 1938, in Harrisburg, Arkansas to the late Millard Rodney and Edna Vernor Hancock Rodney. Mr. Rodney was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters: Shirley Turner and Paulette Melton.

William served as the Jonesboro City Cemetery Sexton over 30 years before his retirement. He enjoyed going to wrestling to see his special friends Dustin and Maria Starr. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing. William attended Needham Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife of nearly 60 years, Mary Ann Rutledge Rodney of the of the home;

2 sons: Marty (Vanessa) Rodney and Timothy Rodney;

1 daughter, Julie Rodney;

1 sister, Joyce (Don) Page;

4 granddaughters: Brianna Kiplinger, Heather Rodney, Ashley (Kenneth) Wilks and Hillary (Lance) Loftin.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 11, 2020, at Needham Baptist Church with Pastor Danny Russell officiating. Burial will be private.
