William Earl Patterson

William Earl Patterson, 85, of Jonesboro, passed from this life on July 24, 2022 at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House. William was born on October 11, 1936 in Hickory Plains, AR to the late Charles and Myrtle Patterson. In addition to his parents, William is preceded in death by numerous brothers, sisters, family, and friends.

William lived in Jonesboro for 60 years, coming here from El Paso TX after serving in the US Army. In his younger days, he enjoyed riding motorcycles, listening to music, and even playing the guitar. One of William’s favorite places was Norfork Lake. There he would spend time enjoying the water, riding boats, and skiing on the lake.  Most importantly, William loved his time with his family.

William is survived by his wife of 56 years, Ruth Patterson, of the home; sons, Mike Patterson (CaSandra) of Jonesboro, Gary Patterson (Michelle) of Wildwood, MO, and Alan Patterson (Tina) of Spokane, WA; daughters, Kathy Rodenbeck of Fort Wayne, IN and Cheryl Morris (Jack) of Newton Falls, OH; 7 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

A visitation will be held from 10:00 am to 11:00 am Tuesday, July 26, 2022 at Emerson Funeral Home. Burial will be private.
