With grateful hearts and deep sorrow, our family announces the passing of William “Stan” McMillin, whose long and faithful life was a testament to service, devotion, and love. He went to be with the Lord on February 17, 2026. He was born August 22, 1939 in Ida, Illinois to the late Alonzo and Eva (Glasgow) McMillin.

Stan proudly served his country in the United States Army, carrying a deep sense of honor and duty. After his military service, he continued his lifelong commitment to protecting others as a devoted Arkansas State Trooper for 25 years. His years in law enforcement were marked by courage and fairness.

Above all, family was his greatest joy and highest priority. He was a loving father, grandfather, son, brother, and husband. Stan was steadfast and reliable, providing endless support whether offering wise counsel, sharing stories from days gone by, or simply being a trusted friend. He made everyone feel safe, valued, and deeply loved.

He leaves behind a legacy of faith and was extremely grateful of his relationship with the Lord. He attended Central Baptist Church. Though our hearts are heavy, we take comfort in knowing he is at peace, rejoicing in the presence of his Savior.

In addition to his parents, Stan was preceded in death by his wife, Captola (Holifield) McMillin; his second wife, Geraldine (Cheshier) McMillin; his son, Ronald Rickard; grandson, Jeremy Rickard and his siblings, Jimmy McMillin, Colleen Frick, Ermagene Dover, and Lonnie McMillin.

Survivors include his sons, Jeff McMillin (Donna) of Jonesboro and Donald Rickard (Sherry) of Jonesboro; his grandchildren, Shayna Wright (Josh) of Jonesboro, Holly Rickard (Troy) of Jonesboro, Lance Rickard of Groveland, Massachusetts, and Brooke Rickard of Hamilton, Massachusetts; ten great-grandchildren as well as nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.

The family wants to thank the staff at Liberty Park for all the care and compassion Stan received over the last year.

Funeral service will be Sunday, February 22, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. in Emerson Memorial Chapel with Bros. Ron Langston and Craig Miller officiating. Burial will follow at Woodland Heights Cemetery with State Police serving as Pallbearers and providing funeral honors.

Honorary pallbearers will be his coffee drinking buddies that meet at Kum & Go.

Visitation will be from 1:00-2:00 p.m. prior to the service.
