William (Bill) Hosman

William “Bill” Hosman, departed this life June 2, 2015, in Jonesboro at the age of 80.He was born July 11, 1934 in Annieville, Arkansas to the late E.B. “Buck” and Lela Privett Hosman. Most of his life was spent as a businessman in Hardy. Bill’s childhood was spent in Weona, Arkansas. He served in the U.S. Air Force. He was involved in the building of the Atlas Missile during the Cuban Missile Crisis and with top level military clearance worked on the U-2 Spy plane. Being a man of many talents, he had occupations with the railroads, sales, and owner/manager of two grocery stores. He was a locksmith and lovingly known as the “Hubcap Billy”. He was a 32nd degree Mason, serving as past Master of Wilson Lodge #432. Bill received his 50 year pin in 2008. He was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Jonesboro. He was preceded in death by his 1st wife; Patricia Abney Hosman, 2 brothers; Jack and Boyd Hosman and a sister Eudell Ringer.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Kathy Stout Hosman of the home. 3 daughters; Brenda (Gary) Deckard of Hot Springs, Arkansas, Karen Propes of Knoxville, Tennessee and Glenda (Tim) Rook of Jonesboro. 8 grandchildren; Sara (Josh) Wright, Amy Deckard, Joe Deckard, Michael Rook Fiancé (Anna Kingston), Austin Rook, Erica Jo Rook, Zack and KariBeth Propes. 3 great grandsons; Jacob, Winston and Garrett Wright.
Sisters; Lois Vernell Upton of Springfield, Missouri and Pat (Don) Lindsey of Portia, Arkansas. Sister in laws; Mel Hosman and Nancy Hosman.
Funeral service will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Saturday June 6, 2015 at Emerson Memorial Chapel with Rev. Kurt Neeley officiating and Eulogy by Glenda Rook. Burial will be at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday June 6, 2015 at the Bronough Cemetery with Emerson Funeral Home in charge.
Visitation will be held from 5-7:00 P.M. on Friday June 5, 2015 in Emerson Memorial Chapel.
Active pallbearers will be Gary Deckard, Joe Deckard, Michael Rook, Austin Rook, Zack Propes, Brian Hosman, Larry Hosman and Melvin Hosman.

Honorary pallbearers will be Josh Wright, Vic Hosman, Aaron Hosman, Jack Horrell, Max Solomon, Jeff Ringer, Tim Rook, Wilson lodge #432 F&AM, Men of the Calvary Baptist Church, Visiting Angels and Home Health Professionals.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the National Parkinson Foundation
