William Henry "W.H." Jones

William Henry “W.H.” Jones, 71, of Jonesboro, died Tuesday, December 6, 2011 at St. Bernards Medical Center. He was born in Ravenden Springs and lived much of his life in the Walnut Ridge and Jonesboro areas. He was retired from the U.S. Army after 21 years of service at the rank of MSgt. He liked to hunt and fish and loved watching football. He was a member of the Nettleton Masonic Lodge and had served as a past Master of the lodge. He had attended Refuge General Baptist Church in Lake City.

He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Evelyn Jones of the home; his children, Carla (Donald) Trotter, Paragould, Greg Estelle, Huntsville, Alabama, Jeffery Jones, Las Cruces, New Mexico, Jimmy R. (Sally) Emerson, Jonesboro, Warren Allen (Sandra) Emerson, Bay, Timmy Beresford, Paragould, Tammy Beresford, San Antonio, Texas, Allen Chaffin, Albuquerque, New Mexico; his brothers, Eddie Jones, Ravenden, Leon Jones, Black Rock, Bill Jones, Imboden; sisters, Betty Weiss and Margaret Matthews, both of Imboden, Phyllis Blackshire, Jerusalem, Arkansas; grandchildren, David See, J.J. Emerson, Stephanie Griffey, Bryan Barnes, Adam Emerson, Matt Emerson, Brittney Culpepper, Rachel Jones, Liren Jones, Jacklyn Jones, Spencer Jones; great grandchildren, Hunter Reynolds, Taylor Barnes, Joselyn Emerson, Reagan Emerson, Dylan Griffey, Shane Griffey, and Abbi Grissom.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James Gerald & Lelia Jane Horsman Jones; a brother, Jr. Jones; and a granddaughter, Amanda See.

Funeral services will be Friday December 9, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Emerson Memorial Chapel with Bro. Kevin Barnett officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Log Cemetery. Emerson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Active pallbearers will be David See, Bryan Barnes, Adam Emerson, Matt Emerson, James Barnett, and Donald Trotter.

Visitation will be Friday 1:00 p.m. until time of service at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
