William H. "Bill" Bryant

William H. “Bill” Bryant, 66, of Jonesboro, died Sunday at Twin Oaks Nursing Center in Jonesboro.

Bill was born in Jonesboro and lived all of his life here. He was a graduate of Arkansas State University where he received a U.S. Army commission and attended First Baptist Church for many years. He was a cotton geneticist and was preceded in death by his parents, William Robert and Bernice Carter Bryant.

Survivors include 2 sons, William Devon Bryant and Dr. Christopher Scott Bryant, both of Jonesboro;

2 sisters, Sadie Belle Gipson of Jonesboro and Sue Ann Holland of Destin, Florida; and

6 grandchildren.

Graveside funeral services will be held Wednesday morning at 10:00 in Lorado Cemetery with Dr. Bruce Tippit officiating and Emerson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

There will be no visitation.
