William Brian “Bill” French of Jonesboro departed this life on Wednesday, February 10, 2021, at the age of 70. He was born April 9, 1950 to the late Ralph and Elizabeth French in Jonesboro and was a graduate of Jonesboro High School.
William was self-employed as a farmer and chemical applicator at French Agri Services Inc and a member at Blessed Sacrament in Jonesboro. When you could not find him at work, you would always find him supporting his kids and grandkids on the baseball field or basketball court. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle and hunting, but more than anything spending time with his family and friends. Bill had an especially strong love for his work and family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded by his brother Jerry French; two sisters, Kathrine Scroggins and Helen French.
William is survived by his wife, Marsha Blanchard of the home; one son, Brian (Courtney) French of Jonesboro; one step-son, Jason Lunn of San Antonio, TX; two step-daughters, Cara (Satoshi) Shirai of St. Louis, MO, Amy (Justin) Shell of Popular Bluff, MO; six brothers, John French, Howard French, Tommy French, Wayne French, Stephen French and Phillip French; one sister, Dorothy Smith; three grand- children, Wil French, Jack French, Lacey French; four step grand-children, Addison Shell, Ella Shell, Kennedy Shell, and Max Shirai; and a lifetime of friends.
Friends may visit at Emerson Funeral Home, Sunday, February 14, 2021 beginning at 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
