William "Bill" C. Sloan Iii

William C. Sloan III (Bill), 58 of Jonesboro, Arkansas passed away Tuesday, October 30, 2018 at the Charleston Area Medical Center in Charleston, West Virginia.  Bill was born on April 16, 1960 in Jonesboro.  He was the son of William C. Sloan Jr. and LaVerne Scott Sloan.  Bill grew up in Jonesboro and Walnut Ridge, Arkansas.  He graduated from Walnut Ridge High School in 1978.  He was an active member in First United Methodist Church in Jonesboro and the Exchange Club of Jonesboro.  Bill had a big heart and was always willing to help others.  He enjoyed reading, golfing, and pulling for the razorbacks.

Bill was survived by his niece, Katherine E. Crocker, of Aldan, Pennsylvania; his brother-in-law, Donald D. Crocker of Little Rock, Arkansas; aunts Barbara Sloan Pearsall and Betsy Sloan Barrett; uncle Frank F. Sloan and wife Roberta and many beloved cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents William and LaVerne Sloan and his sister, Phoebe Sloan Crocker.

A memorial service will be held at First United Methodist Church, 801 S. Main Street, at 2pm on Monday, November 5 ^th with John Miles officiating.  Visitation will be held prior to the funeral service in the atrium of the church starting at 1pm.  Emerson Funeral Home will be providing the arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to First United Methodist Church, Northeast Arkansas Children’s Advocacy Center or Northeast Arkansas Humane Society.
