William “Bill" Cunningham Sr. 84, of Jonesboro, died Saturday September 19, 2009 at his home.
He was born and lived his entire life in Jonesboro. Mr. Cunningham was a Rural Route Letter Carrier for the U.S. Postal Service for over forty years, U.S. Naval Officer and WWII Veteran, member of the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus. He attended the University of Arkansas where he was a member of the Sigma Nu Fraternity. Preceded in death by his parents George and Zepha Cunningham of Black Oak, Arkansas, Mr. Cunningham is survived by:
His wife of 57 years: Mary Cunningham of the home.
One son: Bill Cunningham Jr. of New York, New York.
Two daughters: Rosemary Reiman of Jonesboro and Nancy Hudson of Franklin, Tennessee.
One brother; Bobby Cunningham of Mesa, Arizona.
One sister; Rosalee Burke of Phoenix, Arizonia.
Four grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday September 22, 2009 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, with Father Mark Wood officiating. Burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery, with Emerson Funeral Home handling the arrangements.
There will be no visitation.
