William "Bill" Curtis Bowman

July 10, 1930 — March 23, 2015

William “Bill” Curtis Bowman, 84, of Jonesboro, died Monday, March 23, 2015, at St. Bernard’s Medical Center. He was born in Chicago, Ill on July 10, 1930 to the late Thomas and Mary Bowman. Bill was drafted into the Army as an E-4 Corporal and was stationed in Germany, later spending six years in the Army reserve. In 1956, he married his wife, Nancy, and they had a daughter and two sons. While working as a financial manager for Chrysler, he and his family lived in Chicago and Denver. After retiring, he lived in Grand Rapids, MI, then moved to MS and later, to Jonesboro, AR this past June.

Bill was of the Catholic faith and a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and traveling in his spare time. In his earlier days, Bill enjoyed dancing with his wife Nancy. He enjoyed spending time with his family, and had a great sense of humor. He was always making a joke. He was dearly loved, and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

In addition to Bill’s parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Nancy, of 53 years, his daughter, Ellen, three older brothers, and one older sister.

He is survived by his two sons: John (Sharon) Bowman of Jonesboro, and Bob (Shirley) Bowman of Madison, MS; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
