Jonesboro – William Appiah, 16, of Jonesboro passed away on Monday, September 3, 2012 at St. Jude’s Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee.
He was born January 20, 1996 in Arlington, Virginia to Stephanie Burgess and Alfred Appiah. He was known to many as “Willie” or simply as “Will.” Will had such a passion for life and touched everyone with whom he came in contact.
William spent much of his life in Virginia, relocating to Jonesboro, Arkansas to be with his father and stepmother. He was a student at Nettleton High School. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and in February of this year was ordained a priest in the Aaronic Priesthood.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Stephanie Burgess, and his maternal grandmother, Vivian Burgess.
He leaves to celebrate his life his father and stepmother, Alfred Appiah and Marsha Smith of Jonesboro; three siblings, Dawon Headon, Ebony Headon, and Calvin Trapnell; one stepbrother, Brandon Patterson; Five aunts, Cynthia Cecile, Dianne, Patricia, and Laverene; and 5 brother –in-laws, a host of in-laws, cousins and many more friends.
Visitation will be Saturday, September 15 from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 301 E. Highland Drive in Jonesboro.
Funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the Church with Emerson Funeral Home in charge.
