William A. Montgomery

William A. “Tony” Montgomery, 74, of Jonesboro, died Wednesday morning at his home. Born in Muncie, Indiana, he had lived in Jonesboro since 1959. He was a retired manager from G.E. after 34 years of service. After his retirement he became involved in insurance sales. He loved to fish, bow hunt, and was an avid duck hunter. He was a very loving husband, father, and grandfather and was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church. He was a Navy veteran.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Shirley Montgomery, of the home; daughters, Carrie Bailey and her husband Sherrod, Memphis, Tami Montgomery Sales, Jonesboro; his sister, Lara McGovern, Salt Lake City, Utah; 2 grandsons, Grant Bailey and Wesley Pruett.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John & Blanche Kemery Montgomery, his son, William Wayne Montgomery, and his brother, Benjamin Montgomery.

All services will be private.
