Wesley Gatlin, 86, of Jonesboro passed away Saturday, March 30, 2019 at his home. He was born February 23, 1933 in Dixie to the late William and Lula Gatlin. Wesley was a member of Woods Chapel Baptist Church in Brookland. He owned and operated Gatlins Lion Service Station and Gatlins Auto Service Center for many years. While operating Gatlins Auto, Wesley maintained all the vehicles for the Post Office. He enjoyed mowing yards, especially his church. Wesley also enjoyed car rides, Branson trips with his wife and eating his favorite meal, a double cheeseburger with a large diet coke and an apple pie from McDonalds.

In addition to his parents, Wesley was preceded in death by his wife, Edna Pearl Gatlin; 2 brothers and 3 sisters.

Survivors include his 2 daughters, Deborah Diane (Joe) Barber, Lana Michelle Lovins both of Jonesboro; sister, Lucy (Barry) Holden of Lake City; 4 grandchildren: Joshua (Amy) Barber, Lindsay (Ricardo) Centeno, Leif (Beth) Lovins, Lacey Lovins and 8 great grandchildren all of Jonesboro.

Funeral service will be Wednesday, April 3, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. in Emerson Memorial Chapel with Rick Hathcoat officiating. Burial will follow in Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery with active pallbearers being Joshua Barber, Leif Lovins, Terry Simmons, Brayden Barber, Ricardo Centeno, Bryan Martinez, Junior Centeno and Angel Centeno.

Visitation will be Tuesday, April 2, 2019 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Emerson Funeral Home.
