Mr. Welby “Bill” Huffman, 79, of Jonesboro, died September 12, 2012 at St. Bernards Medical Center. He was born December 23, 1932 at Caraway, the son of Albert & Eunice (Mauldin) Huffman.
Bill was a retired truck driver and a member of the church of Christ. He was a graduate of Egypt High School and a United States Marine Corps veteran, serving in the Korean War. Bill enjoyed carpentry work and could build most anything.
He is survived by one daughter, Tabatha Massey and husband, David of Jonesboro; two sons, Gary Huffman of Bono and Randy Huffman of Akron, Ohio; grandsons, Phillip Massey, Jason Huffman, 5 step grandchildren; two sisters, Lavada Crisler of Cash and Connie Watson of Carton, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, R.M. Huffman, Roy Paul Huffman; two sisters, Albertine Muir and Joyce Pierce.
Graveside services, with military honors, will be Friday, September 14, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Nettleton Cemetery with Bill Willard officiating. Emerson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Active pallbearers include Stacy Crisler, Wendell Crisler, Jim Muir, Monty Huffman, Paul Huffman, Larry Huffman, Eric McGee, Wendell Renfroe, Rick Hunt, and Rick Davis.
There will be no visitation.
