W.D. "Dave" Davidson

August 31, 1930 — September 8, 2019


Winfred Dale “Dave” Davidson, 89, died on September 8, 2019. He was born to Oscar Obid and Pauline Augusta Caldwell Davidson on August 31, 1930 in Thida, Arkansas.


His parents, a brother, Dewayne Gail Davidson, and his first wife, Daffa Dean Ramsey Davidson, precede him in death.


He is survived by his wife, Elcy Lorean Davidson, sons, Michael (Pam) Dewayne Davidson, and Ronald (Nita) Dale Davidson, stepchildren Lena Ruth (Mark) Crismon and Kenny (Julie) Edward Godsey, a brother, Jimmy Glen Davidson, eight grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.
He retired from the Arkansas State Police as Captain of Troop D at Forrest City, Arkansas after thirty-one years of service. He was a Korean War Veteran and a member of the Chosin Few Association. He served as a Boy Scout Leader, a member of the Jonesboro Masonic Lodge #129 and a member of the American Legion.


A visitation will be from 5-7pm Tuesday, September 10, 2019 at Emerson Funeral Home. A funeral service will be at 10 am Wednesday, September 11, 2019 at Emerson Funeral Home with Don Blackmore officiating. Burial will follow at Nettleton Cemetery with the Arkansas State Police Honor Guard  serving as pallbearers. The grandchildren will be the honorary pallbearers.
