Wayne Coots, 83, of Jonesboro, passed away on April 1, 2024 at his home. He was born in Cash on March 5, 1941 to Marvin Coots and Ethel McQuay Coots.
Wayne graduated from Cash High School in 1960 and was of the Church of Christ belief. He loved his work and retired from Colson Caster after 46 years. Wayne enjoyed the simple things in life, like sitting on the front porch watching his grandkids play. He loved spending time outside and always liked planting tomatoes in the spring. One of Wayne’s greatest joys was spending time with family during their annual Father’s Day weekend fish fry.
Wayne is preceded in death by his parents, Marvin and Ethel Coots; two sisters, Mildred Rose and Barbara Riggs; and one brother, Jerry Coots.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Clark Coots of the home; daughter, Cindy (Jerry) Simpson of Jonesboro; son, Tony (Tosha) Davis of Paragould; three brothers, Wade (Kay) Coots of Jonesboro, Larry (Gloria) Coots of Jonesboro, and Buddy (Frankie) Coots of Wisconsin; sister, Shirley Coots of Walnut Ridge; 9 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held at Emerson Memorial Chapel on Monday, April 8, 2024 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held at Emerson Memorial Chapel on Tuesday, April 9, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. with burial following at Worley Cemetery in Cash.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Roger Rose, Keith Coots, Steven Riggs, Barry Riggs, Shannon Rose, and Jerry Simpson. Tony Davis will act as an honorary pallbearer.
