Wayne Barnett-Daniels

Wayne Barnett-Daniels, 62, of Jonesboro, died Saturday of natural causes at his home.

Born in Dyersburg, Tennessee, Wayne moved to Jonesboro at any early age and lived much of his life here. He was a 1968 graduate of Nettleton High School and a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War. Wayne was a truck driver for Consolidated Freightways for several years and was retired from PacRail Intermodal in Memphis.

Wayne attended Nettleton Baptist Church and was a long-time supporter of the United Way. He was a member of American Legion and a life member of Veteran of Foreign Wars of Jonesboro. He was preceded in death by his mother, Blondell Hargrove, his step father, Milton Hargrove, and by a grandson, Jacob Thomas West.

Survivors include his wife of 39 years, Margaret Barnett of the home;

2 daughters, Tammy Scarborough and Stacy Arnold (Tim) all of Jonesboro;

6 brothers: Robert Earl Barnette (Brenda) of Florida, John Hargrove (Kathy), Dennis Hargrove (Brenda), and Bobby Joe Hargrove all of Jonesboro; and Billy Daniels (Julie) and Ricky Daniels (Pam) all of Dyersburg;

1 sister, Vickie Moore of Dyersburg; and

8 grandchildren: Lita Spencer of Mississippi, and Chelsea Davis, Traci Ervin, Tommy Ervin, Jacob Dryer, Tyler Arnold and Cassidy Arnold all of Jonesboro, and Zack Arnold of Trumann.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2:00 in Emerson Memorial Chapel. Burial with military honors will follow in Oaklawn Cemetery.

Active pallbearers include Tim Arnold, Tim Spencer, Paul Hammett, David Brasfield, Dillion Slagley and Kenny R. Parker. Honorary pallbearers include Robert Earl Barnette, John Hargrove, Dennis Hargrove, Bobby Joe Hargrove, Billy Daniels, Vickie Moore, Billy Don Young, John L. “Chip” Wood and Jacoby Bilbro.

Visitation will be held Tuesday from 12 noon until service time in Emerson Chapel.
