Warren George Gallion, 63, Jonesboro, died Thursday, April 8, 2010, at NEA Baptist Hospital. He was born in Jonesboro and lived most of his life in this area. He was a member of Philadelphia Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon and was retired from Craighead Electric Cooperative as the Operations Manager. Warren was preceded in death by his parents, Warren G. and Beatrice Gallion.
Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Peggy Gallion, of the home; sons, Warren J. Gallion and wife Karen, Brookland, Arkansas; Jonathan Gallion, Nashville, Tennessee; daughters, Angela Thompson and husband, Randy, Jonesboro; Marie Hunter and husband Danny, Elizabeth, Arkansas; Tressa White and husband, Alex, Jonesboro; brothers Kenneth Gallion and wife Anita, Timothy Gallion, both of Jonesboro; grandchildren, Jared, Jerica, Aaron and Ethan Hunter; Nicole and Nathan Thompson; Katelyn and Ashley Dawson; Georgia and Finley White; two great grandchildren, Aidain and Abigail Hunter.
Graveside services will be 2:00 P.M., Saturday at Gibson Cemetery with Brother Lewis Gentry officiating and Emerson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are the Adult Sunday School Class of Philadelphia Baptist Church, Russell Brown, and Henry Thompson.
To quote Warren, “No flowers please, I am allergic,” however, for those wishing to leave lasting memorials, the family request you please consider Philadelphia Baptist Church Youth Group, 620 W. Philadelphia Road, Jonesboro, Arkansas 72401. Visitation will be from 5 – 7 Friday night at Emerson Funeral Home.
