Walter Ray “Mick” Boland, 89, of Jonesboro, Arkansas, passed away on Tuesday, January 9, 2024 at the Ridgecrest Health and Rehabilitation Center. He was born on July 16, 1934 in Darlove, Mississippi to Frank and Lucille Boland.
Mick lived in Jonesboro since 1971, moving from Lepanto. He was of the Baptist belief and was a faithful member of Nettleton Baptist Church. Mick loved working on and restoring tractors, attending church services, and going on cruises to the Caribbean. He also had a passion for smoking meats and cooking with his good friend, Tony Bradley.
In addition to his parents, Mick is preceded in death by his first wife of 34 years, Zona Ruth Boland; second wife of 33 years, Kathy Boland; brother, J.D. “Bud” Boland; and nephew, Scott Boland.
Mick is survived by his daughter, RuthAnn (Stan) Harp of McHenry, Mississippi; stepdaughter, Lisa (Delane) Hogan of Jonesboro; stepson, Dewey Lee (Juanice) Barnes of Buford, Georgia; grandchildren, Sarah (David) Coy of Perkinston, Mississippi and Jonathan Harp of McHenry, Mississippi; and great-grandchildren, Meghan Coy and Philip Coy.
A memorial service will be held at Nettleton Baptist Church on Saturday, February 17, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. A visitation will be held from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will be private.
