Walter L. Davis

January 17, 1927 — February 19, 2006

Walter L. Davis, 79, of Jonesboro, died Sunday afternoon, February 19, 2006 at his home in Jonesboro.

Born in Aubry, Arkansas, Mr. Davis lived in Trumann and Bay before moving to Jonesboro in 1988. He was retired from Singer Corporation in Trumann and was a member of Fairview Baptist Church where he was a greeter and usher. Mr. Davis was an ordained deacon and was a volunteer for NEA Food Bank.

Mr. Davis was a U.S. Army veteran of W.W. II and was preceded in death by his first wife, Virginia Pearl Davis, by his second wife, Bettie Lou Davis, and by a son, Brandon Davis.

Survivors include:

2 Daughters: Rose Meloy of Newport News, Virginia, and
Charlotte Ming of Meriden, Connecticut;

2 Sons: Carl Lee Davis of New Caney, Texas, and
Jimmy Walter Davis of Conroe, Texas;

11 Grandchildren, and
11 Great Grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2:00 at Emerson Memorial Chapel with Robbie McMasters officiating. Burial will follow in Nettleton Cemetery.

Active pallbearers include: Joe Adams, Scotty Simino, Kenny Griggs, Burnis Shelton,
Jim Simino, Larry Knight and Richard White.

Visitation will be held Wednesday afternoon from 12:30 until service time at Emerson Memorial Chapel.
