Walter H. Brunkhorst, III, 58 of Evening Shade, Arkansas, went to be with his Lord and Savior on July 23, 2017. He was born on March 10, 1959, in Springfield, Missouri. Walter attended Bishop Carroll High School in Wichita, Kansas. He entered the Navy and served on the aircraft carrier U.S.S. Ranger. When he returned home, he attended Wichita State University.
Walter moved to Jonesboro to manage his parents’ business, Petty’s Hallmark, first in Indian Mall and then in The Mall at Turtle Creek.
Walter was preceded in death by his loving parents, Walter H. Brunkhorst, Jr. and Gwyndolyn Johnson Brunkhorst, and sister Artie Skaggs.
Walter is survived by his daughter Ashley Brunkhorst of Omaha, NE, sister Carol Carpenter (Charlie Crumby) of Collierville, TN; nephews Geoff Mangels, Scott Carpenter, Kyle Carpenter, and niece Alexis Teal (Rich), and his many wonderful friends in Jonesboro.
A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, August, 5, 2017, at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, 531 College Avenue, Jonesboro. Visitation time will be at 2:00 PM, and the service will be at 3:00PM.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Salvation Army, the NE Arkansas Humane Society, or the charity of the donor’s choice.
