Walter Beard

Walter Beard, 78, of Weiner, AR passed away Wednesday at St. Bernards Medical Center. Born in Weldon, AR, he lived in Trumann before moving to Weiner in 1963. Walter was an avid hunter and fisherman and of the Christian belief.

Walter is preceded in death by his parents, William and Bessie Hays; wife, Mary Louise Beard; brothers, Bill and Ted Beard; sisters, Nora Carson, Verla Dutton, and Imogene Woods/Darr.
Survivors include 2 sons, Mike (Sheila) Beard and Tim Beard, all of Weiner, 1 daughter, Linda (Randy) Ivy of Jonesboro, 1 brother, Robert (Jeanettye) Beard, Sr. of Payneway, 5 grandchildren, Kelly Mullins, of Weiner; Ericka Ivy, of Lake City, Ryan Ivy and Jordan Beard, both of Jonesboro and Tiffany Beard of Weiner. Great grandchildren include Austin, Brooklynn, Skye, Payhton, Sydney and Randi. Walter had many special nieces and nephews that he loved very much. Also surviving is his constant companion LadyBug, his bluetick hound and Rick Kizer, who was like a son to him and a member of the family.

Funeral services will be Saturday, December 8, 2012, at 2:00 PM at Emerson Memorial Chapel with Bro. Bob Barnett officiating along with Bro. Larry Merrell and Bro Marvin Tate. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery in Weiner.

Active pallbearers include Jordan Beard, Jordan Woods, Randy Mullins, Ryan Ivy, Austin Ivy and Buster Trammell.

Honorary pallbearers include Doug Greeno, Bill Summers, Bob Davis, Rick Kizer, Toby Sutton, Buddy and Linda Whittle, Keith Bise, Mark Dennis, W.A. Westerman, Bill and Kasey Harris and all of Walter’s hunting buddies.

Visitation will be prior to service from 12:00-2:00 PM.
Emerson Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.
