Wally Russell

Wallace “Wally” Russell, 75, of Jonesboro departed this Earthly life that God gave him on Thursday, March 13, 2025 and he is now in his eternal home. He was born on September 28, 1949 in Jonesboro, Arkansas to LB and Patricia Russell. Wally lived his whole life in Jonesboro.

Wally was preceded in death by his wife, Lelia Russell; parents, LB and Patricia Russell; Brothers, Gary Joe Russell, Donnie Russell, and Austin Russell; and sisters, Carol Wessell and Linda Nelson.

Wally is survived by his brother, Kenny Russell (Mikki) of Poughkeepsie, Arkansas; sister, Peggy Sartain (Bob) of Brookland; step-sons, James Thompson (Megan) of Paragould and Adam Robinson (Carol) of Millington, Tennessee; and one step-daughter, Connie Ellis of Florida.

The funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, March 17, 2025 at Emerson Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Nettleton Cemetery with the active pallbearers being: Big John Dodd, Matt Butler, Terry Vinson, Scotty Cook, Jake Gilley, and Bill Scarborough.
