Vontilla Smith

Vontilla Smith, of Jonesboro, died August 17, 2011 at the Flo & Phil Jones Hospice House. Born in Vanndale, Arkansas to Eugene & Glinner Prince Robertson, she had lived in Jonesboro for 14 years, moving here from Hickory Ridge. She was of the Baptist belief.

She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Brenda & Earnie Link, Trumann, Glenda Smith, of the home, Brittany & Eric May Trumann; three grandchildren, Spencer Vaughn, Raylee Vaughn, Erica May; one brother, Henry Robertson; one sister, Bonnie Jamieson, both of Wynne; and a special niece, Janette McJunkins of Jonesboro.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Smith; her brothers, Edgar Robertson, Billy Thompson, and twin brothers, Lowell & Nowell “Hoot” Robertson. Funeral services will be Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at Emerson Memorial Chapel with James McJunkins officiating. Burial will follow in Lewis Cemetery near Hickory Ridge. Emerson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Active pallbearers will be Brenda & Earnie Link, Janette & James McJunkins, Kristie & Ronnie Tacker, Paula Winders, and Greg Robertson.

Honorary pallbearers will be Larry Jamieson and Karen Parrish, and Spencer Vaughn.

Visitation will be Friday 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
