Von August Pausch

Von August Pausch, 86, of Jonesboro, passed from this life on Monday, July 4, 2022, at his daughter’s home surrounded by his loved ones.  He was born in Whittier, California to the late Charles and Erma Pausch on June 28, 1936.

He was raised in Southern California and attended Coachella High School in Thermal and attended college at Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo, California.  He then decided to join the Air Force and was in active duty from 1955-1959.

When he was growing up, he, along with his father Charles and brother Don farmed 40 acres of grapes and grapefruit until 1953 when his father formed Pausch & Sons Equipment, Inc.  The three built and patented concrete pipe machinery.  In 1968, Von moved the family business to Jonesboro where he met and married Jane Osment (Pausch).  Pausch & Sons celebrated 12 years in the business community of Jonesboro before selling the company.  Von and his wife Jane established VJ Pausch Industries dba Can-Do Concrete Systems, Inc., building concrete self-haul and full-scale ready-mix batch plants.  They sold the company to Acrowood South, and he and Jane retired in 1989.  He then began consulting in over sea ventures assisting a friend with the first automated parking garage in Japan.  He also enjoyed building computer systems for clients until 2002 when he retired for a second time and relocated to Georgetown, Texas where he built and repaired computers and taught computer classes to their senior community.  He enjoyed RV’ing and traveling the world as a traveling salesman for his companies.

He is preceded in death by his parents Charles and Erma Pausch, stepmother Tillie Pausch and his brother Don Pausch.

Survivors include daughters Cassie Kersey and Andrea Cook and their mother, Jane Pausch; grandsons Kyle Kersey and Logan Cook all of Jonesboro; grandson Cameron Frangenberg of Farmington, AR; sister Judy Pausch Freeman of Roseville, California and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and several close friends.

Visitation will be held Friday, July 15, 2022, at 1:00 pm at Emerson’s Funeral Home Chapel followed by a Celebration of Life with Bro. Johnny Hutchison officiating.  Honorary Friends:  Paul Talley, JT and Sybel Barr, June and Eldon Blair, Matt and Mary Manis, Art Shanklin, Altea Key, Fred and Virginia Edwards, Larry and Kay Worsham, Guy Hocker, Bob and Norma Newman.
