Vivian Coy Blalock Rupple, 86, of Jonesboro left this life October 4, 2018. She was born August 20, 1932 in Burnt Hill, Arkansas to Luna and Frank Coy and was the youngest of their three daughters. She was a young girl when Frank moved the family to Brookland, Arkansas. Vivian attended school in Brookland and graduated from Brookland High School in 1950. After high school, Vivian moved to Jonesboro and attended Jonesboro Business College where she acquired the skills to work in a modern office environment. She eventually secured a position with Blue Cross Blue Shield that she kept her entire working career retiring after 32 years of service.
In her retirement, Vivian began ballroom and square dancing at the Senior Center in Jonesboro and the surrounding area. She was a member of Weight Watchers for decades becoming a recruiter and trainer. She enjoyed camping with her family and friends, cooking out, boating, and water skiing.
Vivian was a member of St. Paul’s UMC and sang in the choir for many years. She was dedicated to her family, her friends, and her Lord. She will be greatly missed.
Survivors include her two sisters, Ella Jean McGee and Magdalene Weaks; two sons, Michael Blalock (Kim) and Rickey Blalock (Lanell); four granddaughter, two great granddaughters, and numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, family requests that memorials be made to St. Paul UMC (Jonesboro) or Pine Log Church and Cemetery.
Visitation will be at St. Paul’s UMC in Jonesboro on Monday, October 8 th from 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. with the funeral service following at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Charlie Sigmon officiating.
