Virginia Shempert

Catherine Virginia Shempert, 85, of Bono passed from this life Sunday, January 9, 2022 at St. Bernards Medical Center. She was born September 2, 1936 in Alicia. She lived all of her life in the Nettleton and Westside areas. She was a 1955 Nettleton Honor Graduate and an outstanding basketball player.

Virginia was preceded in death by a daughter, Patricia "Patty" Shempert; husband, BJ Shempert; parents, John and Mary Banter; and brothers, Vert and Roger Banter.

She is survived by a son, Jay (Pam) Shempert; daughter, Susan (Randy) Davis; sister, Janna Seats; grandsons, Adam and Ryan Shempert and Bradley and Tyler Davis as well as 3 great-grandchildren.

Grandsons will be serving as pallbearers. There will be a private graveside service Tuesday, January 11, 2022 at Herman Cemetery.
