Virginia “Ginny” Mei-Lan Roach, 62, of Jonesboro passed away Saturday, December 5, 2020 at NEA Hospital. She was born June 25, 1958 to the late Clarence Wilkerson and Bertha Stoll. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister Claudette Bittner; brother, Eddie Drummond; mother-in-law, Susie Roach; sister-in-law Danna Belle Haynes; and closest friend, Amy Breeden.
Ginny spent seven years in the Army, reaching the rank of Staff Sergeant. While in the Army, she served as the first female diesel locomotive mechanic. After the military, she worked as an EMT, RN, and Firefighter. Most recently, she was a resource coordinator for TrustHCS. Ginny was a three-time cancer survivor. She loved everything about motorcycles. She spent her time participating in motorcycle charities, especially with her club, Las Leonas MC. Most importantly, Ginny loved spending time with her family.
Ginny is survived by her husband, Will Roach, of the home; sons, Justin Avers of Batesville and Robert Avers of Tulsa, OK; father-in-law, Junior Roach, of Jonesboro; brothers, Tommy Lovins of Florida, and Virgil Drummond (Aerika) of Georgia; brother-in-law, Jake Roach, of Jonesboro; sisters, Bonnie Duley of Cherstertown, MD, and Tina Duke of Georgia; grandchildren, Dakota, Justin Jr, Logan, Alana, and Kayden; and a host of nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held Saturday, December 12, 2020 from 1 to 2 pm at Emerson Memorial Chapel. A service will directly follow at 2 pm, with a burial at Oaklawn Cemetery.
A facemask must be worn while at the visitation and service.
