Virginia R. Price

Virginia Price, 83, of Jonesboro, passed away Monday, January 26, 2015, at her home of natural causes.

Born in Oil Trough, Virginia lived in Independence County before moving to Jonesboro in 1938. She worked several years doing domestic and custodial work for several businesses and families including Citizens Bank of Jonesboro. She was a long-time member of Nettleton Baptist Church where she was a nursery worker and later a greeter.

Virginia was servant-hearted. She was also a believer in Jesus Christ as God's Son who came to earth to take away the sins of man and by this she is now in Heaven to live eternally with God our Father.

Virginia was preceded in death by her parents: Arthur and Ida Voyles Rutledge; husband, Alvie Price; daughter, Brenda Virginia Price; 2 sons and daughter-in-law: Curtis Price and Danny Price and Darla Price; and son-in-law: Norman McMullin.

Survivors include 2 daughters and son-in-law: Carolyn and John Rutledge and Kaye McMullin, all of Jonesboro;
1 brother, Art Rutledge of Kettle Falls, Washington;
1 sister, Naoma Schlagenhauf of Bellview, Florida;
11 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and 7 great, great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 10:00 a.m. in Emerson Memorial Chapel with Rev. Stan Ballard and Rev. Harold Ray officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

Visitation will be held Thursday from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at Emerson Funeral Home.
