Virginia L. Bigham Lassiter Long, 71, of Jonesboro passed away on June 17, 2017 at the Flo & Phil Jones Hospice House.
She was a former member of the Church of Christ in Beedeville, where she raised her family. She spent most of her life working as a waitress at the Newport Truck Stop, which she loved doing. She also worked at the Greeting Card Factory in McCrory for a short time. Her hobbies included watching NASCAR, playing bingo, working with her tablet, but most of all she enjoyed being with her family. She was also part of a senior group called Total Life, she always looked forward to getting up and going there almost every day.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Doris and Gus Moller and Joe Taylor; her late husband, Wilbur Long; her former husbands, Turner Bigham and Howard Lassiter; one granddaughter, Marcy Ball; one great grandson, David Trice.
She is survived by three daughters, Paula Stupp of Oklahoma, Lisa Newberry of Jonesboro, and Edith Lassiter of Tennessee; sister, Edna Currier of McCrory; grandchildren, Nikki Noll, Natasha Button of Phillips, WS, Jessica Breedlove of Jonesboro Haley Siler of Searcy, Alisha Pruszynski of Oklahoma, David Lassiter of TN, Katrina Noll of Jonesboro; great grandchildren, Andre McCray Jr., Xzavier McCray, J’darius McCray, Silas McCray, Arianna McCray, Daniel Henley, Gage Henley, Issacc Ball, Dillion Ball, Liana Button, Noah Button, Trace Button, Sydney Button, Bryzik Pruszynski, Avery Pruszynski, Drayden Pruszynski, Harmony Pruszynski, Gracie Joyce, and one on the way JazLynn McCray.
A memorial service will be at New Life Christian Church at 5431 E. Nettleton on Saturday at 2pm. Burial will be private.
