Virginia Henry, 96, of Jonesboro, died Saturday morning at St. Bernard’s Medical Center. She had lived in Jonesboro since 1935, moving here from Cross County. She was a member of Walnut Street Baptist Church where she had served as WMU Director and taught Sunday School classes. She had also served as secretary for AARP.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harlin Henry; her parents, W.Z. & Margaret Sanders Campbell; 3 sisters, Ora Hebble, Essie Stacy, Leona Boucher; and 3 brothers, Lewis Campbell, William Campbell, and Arthur Campbell.
She is survived by 2 sons, Ralph Wayne Henry, Ennis, Texas, Dr. Donald Glen Henry, Staunton, Virginia; one daughter, Connie Faye Pollock, Ironton, Missouri; 9 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 10:00 a.m. at Emerson Memorial Chapel with Brother Curtis Shatley and Dr. Glen Putman officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery with Emerson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Active pallbearers will be Kevin Pollock, Michael Henry, Sean Sayre, Chuck Harris, Darin Griffith, and Hal Feild.
Honorary pallbearers will be deacons of Walnut Street Baptist Church.
Visitation will be from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
