Virginia A. Lakey

Virginia A. Lakey, 80, of Jonesboro, died Monday morning, October 23, 2006, at St. Bernards Medical Center.

Born in Michigan, Mrs. Lakey lived in South Carolina before moving to Jonesboro three years ago. She was a retired bus driver and worked several years at General Electric in Jonesboro.

Mrs. Lakey was a member of Nettleton Baptist Church where she was a member of the George Williamson Sunday School Class. She was preceded in death by her parents: Henry L. and Dovie Parrish Eastworth; and by 4 brothers: Leo Eastworth, Sr., John Eastworth, Jack Eastworth and Charles Eastworth.

Survivors include:

1 Son: Bill Lloyd Lakey of the home;

1 Sister-in-law: Johnnie Belle Eastworth of Jonesboro; and

Several nephews and nieces.

A memorial service will be held Monday evening at 6:00 p.m. at Nettleton Baptist Church with Dr. Stan Ballard officiating.

Burial will be private.

Visitation will follow the service at Nettleton Baptist Church.
