Virgil T. Lammers Sr.

October 16, 1927 — November 11, 2014

Virgil Thomas Lammers Sr., 87, of Jonesboro passed from this life on November 11, 2014 surrounded by his loving family. He was born on October 16, 1927 in Beebe to the late Herman and Lou Ella Lammers. Virgil served in the U.S. Navy during WWII, he was stationed on the USS Springfield and USS Astoria. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Brookland and was a Mason for over fifty years. Virgil especially loved hunting, fishing, camping, and traveling with his lovely wife Dorothy. He is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, two sisters, one granddaughter; Teresa Beary, and one great granddaughter; MacKinze Beary.

Virgil is survived by his loving wife of 67 years; Dorothy Lammers. Sons; Virgil T. Lammers Jr. (Mary) of New Johnsonville, Tennessee and Charles E. Lammers (Sue) of Brookland. Daughters; Sharon A. Conaway of Jonesboro, Brenda K. Sanders (Roger) of Jonesboro, and Wanda S. Wall of Brookland. Brothers; Doyne Lammers of Hot Springs and Burnis Lammers of Jonesboro. Virgil also leaves behind eleven grandchildren, thirty-two great grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on November 14, 2014 at Emerson Memorial Chapel with Bro. Byron Griffey and Bro. Joe Kaiser officiating with Emerson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Burial will follow at Pine Log Cemetery. The active pallbearers will be Vnephews and the grandsons will be Honorary Pallbearers.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, November 13, 2014 at Emerson Memorial Chapel.
